Attractions:

Engadine Valley and Museum - The Engadine Valley is full of plush resorts and unspoiled villages, of which St Moritz is one. St Moritz has 350 km of downhill ski runs, mostly difficult to medium and therefore requiring some level of skill. St Moritz is located on the banks of Lake St Moritz and when the lake is frozen in winter golf is one of the games that are played on the lake. Tel. +41 (0)81 833 43 33
This museum is a great place to start your attraction sightseeing. The museum is home to a number of exhibits on the history of St Moritz and the Engadine region. The museum has a large collection of Engadine antiques and regional furniture.

Segantini Museum - If you are a first time visitor to St Moritz, then you should check out this museum. It includes works by the artist Giovanni Segantini, who lived in the Engadine during the last years of his life. His most important work, Birth, Life, Death, is one of the museum's prized pieces.

Skiing - St Moritz is world famous for its excellent snow conditions, which attracts many visitors from all around the world. There are a number of winter sports on such as skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and sleigh rides.

Petresina - If you are interested in a trekking tour, then this hike may be for you. It takes a day and will help you get a perspective of things from the ground and not just the elevated views of the mountains. The hike takes you past the Olympic Ski Jump to some magnificent glaciers that tower over you. It then brings you through the Alpine valley and on to Hahnensee. The total time for the hike is 6 hours.

The Glacier Express - This scenic train ride connects St Moritz to Zermatt. It is about 7 ½ hours long because of all the twists and turns through the mountainous terrain. Most people don't mind though, because the scenary along the ride is worth it! There is a dining car on board. Information about a Glacier Express tour can be found at

St Moritz Bad - A spa complex that takes advantage of the local mineral springs. The water is said to be rich in iron and carbonic acid that are said to give them curative powers. If you decide to visit, try the mud and carbon dioxide mineral water baths. For transportation, there are buses that run between the complex, which is located around Lake St Moritz and the St Moritz town.

Gornergrat - The Gornergrat is a 3,130 m mountain peak that you visit by way of the Gornergratbahn, the highest open rail system in Europe. Its combines the purpose of transporting skiers and that of being an excursion for those who simply want to take in the elevated heights. Although the railway line is only 9 km long, when you reach the top of Gornergrat, passengers pour into the observation terraces to view the peaks like Matterhorn and Monte Rosa and glaciers. Because of the weather at the top of the mountain, you need to wear warm clothes and sturdy shoes on this trip.

If you are traveling to St Moritz in the summer, there are a variety of summer sports you can view.

If you have a love for old British cars, then you should attend the British Classic Car Meeting held in July. It is here that you can catch a glimpse of over 150 dreams cars, such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ashton-Martin and Healey.

Looking for an opera? Then go to the Engadin / St Moritz Opera Festival held in July. You will be able to experience the beauty of opera in an extraordinary atmosphere, such as St Moritz.

If you are traveling to St Moritz in August, then you can catch the windsurfing and kitesurfing regattas on the Silvaplana Lake.

For those visiting from mid/end August to September, you can experience the 10 day long Golf and Symphony festival.

Are you ready for a physical challenge? How about a 5-8 km inline skating event? The Engadin Inline Marathon is an adrenelin rush in one of the most beautiful environments.

Have you ever been to a chamber music concert? It's a must-see, or hear! St Moritz hosts over 200 of these enchanting concerts each year for its summer visitors.

Are you a horse lover? St Moritz is the leading center for equestrian sports in the Alps region. Check for all event listings.

For those visiting St Moritz from July to August, the Optimist World Championship is a neat way to view the best junior sailors in action. There are over 250 sailors to watch! If you are more interested in catching mature sailors, then watch the Match Race during the middle of August.

If you are traveling to St Moritz in the winter, then you have a variety of winter sports you can attend, such as ice skating, tobogganing and bobsledding and ice hockey. If you are more interested in skiing, then the Alpine Ski World Cup or the Christmas Ski Jumping competition are popular winter event not to miss!
